User Id’s – please don’t use FULL NAMES! Never give your surname out online.
Keep personal details private. Surnames, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses and details of specific places where you hang out are NOT allowed on the boards and will be deleted by our moderators. You CAN tell people your first name, age and the name of a big town or county. For example "Alex/M/Birmingham" is fine, but "Jo Smith/F/village name" is not.
Never give out email or instant messenger addresses. If you want to contact another child from the forum in this way, then ask your parent to get in touch with a moderator and we can help do this safely. There is a link at the bottom of the board to "Contact a Moderator", and your parent can also email them here.
If you see a post that concerns you or that you think breaks our rules, then use the report button above each post to report it to a moderator. It looks like this: 
Once you post on the forum, your thoughts and opinions are public knowledge. If you don't want the world to know about your private ideas, don't post them!
If you have a question about using the forum, take a look at the Help button at the top right of the forum, or if you’re still stuck then ask a moderator.
No spamming! That includes commercial advertisements, posts that don't contribute to the topic and repeat postings of the same or similar messages multiple times.
Good discussions are always great but personal, unpleasant, rude, argumentative or mean messages will not be accepted.
No coded or foreign languages – everyone must be able to easily understand your message. This means messages that are written anything other than English will be edited or removed.
Anyone up to the age of 18 is welcome to post on the children’s forum. The children’s message boards are not to be used by those aged 18 and over. Parents of members of the children’s forum may be on the boards, but are asked not to post themselves.
EO can’t be responsible for the content of other websites linked on this forum, please take care when clicking on them.
The forum moderators have the final say over what content is edited or removed.
EO reserves the right to modify these rules at any time.
Every message is read and checked by our moderators to make sure it is suitable. If you break any of the rules, then your message will be edited or sent to the cyber-bin and a moderator will email or pm you to explain why.
This may result in a warning, your posts being moderated (they would be read before they go live and are seen by all), or rarely after a few breaches of the rules, your posting rights may be suspended so you can read messages but not post replies; or you may be banned from the board. This hardly even happens though, so there shouldn’t be anything to worry about. Have fun!
